We are pleased to announce that the Alberta Legal Information Society (ALIS) is now a member of the Public Legal Education Association of Canada (PLEAC)—the national association for public legal education in the country.
This opportunity will allow us to network with likeminded individuals and organizations in the Public Legal Education and Information (PLEI) industry, share our experiences with and learn from fellow member organizations, and bring a different perspective and expertise to strengthen our legal information website for Albertans.
Founded in 1987, the goals of PLEAC are:
- To support communication and cooperation between individuals and groups interested in public legal education.
- To encourage the development of knowledge and skills in this field.
- To act as a national voice and advocate on issues that concern PLEAC members.
PLEAC works to introduce providers and consumers of public legal education to colleagues across Canada, and share public legal education information and resources. PLEAC also holds an annual conference that offers its members a chance to join others in professional development activities.
We look forward to creating strong relationships through PLEAC, and attending the conference in October 2015 to share our experiences about
LeglaAve.ca.
